Hello,
2 questions,
is it worth upgrading Netflix via sky to the uhd option can you see any picture quality difference in netflix Vs HD?
Lastly how annoying is the basic netflix with ad's option are they every 10 minutes or something in other words do they ruin the enjoyment of a movie etc?
Thankyou

The premium tier of NetFlix enables native 4K video and perhaps more importantly HDR. If HDR on your set is 'good' then you may notice an improvement.

TV is 55" and around 73 inches away from the screen (front of the settee to the front of the TV)

Netflix advertising is inserted before an item can be played, but not within it.

It may not make any difference for you but the UHD streams often have Atmos sound as well rather than 5.1 - although you need to use the app on other devices such as TV inbuilt app, Firestick 4K, Apple box - note when you pay via SKY once set up you can use any device and do not have to use the SKY app
In addition the Netflix apps on other devices also might have Dolby Vision for the HDR which is generally thought to be better than HDR10 as used by the SKY app.
As others have said whether it is worth the upgrade can be quite personal
BTW Personally I have no experience of the With Ads option

Indeed, Most modern Smart TV's will have their own built-in Apps - these are generally going to give a better quality than the Sky version as they are tuned to the device as opposed to the compatibility mode. (So often DV for starters)

Thankyou for the help, yes much prefer to use netflix etc via my TV rather than sky Q apps on sky Q are slow by comparison and only worth using if no other option.
So I think I'm going for it £8 more for uhd&netflix uhd for first 4 months £12 after. I've had them both before but last time I was on a 49" led TV so save to say 55" oled will be better.

I am not quite sure what the options you are being offered are so can I just make sure that you are aware that the SKY UHD add on does not affect the Netflix tier - since December 2023 the Netflix tiers have Boost Options
These were the details I had when they introduced the new tiers:
Netflix (Base level) is the With Ads service - 2 Screens in HD (list cost £4)
Boost to Netflix Standard - 2 Screens in HD Ad free (list price an additional £6 thus £10 in total for Netflix)
Boost to Netflix Premium - 4 Screens up to UHD/HDR (list price an additional £11 thus £15 in total for Netflix)
P.S. When you pay via SKY, you still cannot, currently, add the 'extra member' add on for use by family members not in your physical household that is available for those paying directly to Netflix

hi @will28
I am not sure but I think youo may need to call
As I mentioned the SKY UHD option no longer has any bearing on Netflix.
Did you already have Netflix Basic ?
If so adding SKY UHD may not have counted as a 'significant' change to drop you to Netflix standard with Ads (Netflix Basic is a legacy level and can no longer be selected but may remain for existing subscribers)

Thanks managed to sort it in the end had to do it via the sky Q box for some reason the option wasn't on my sky app or at least I couldn't find it.
Just need the find the best examples of uhd/HDR/Dolby vision on netflix now any suggestions?
