Need help choosing a TV Package

Hi everyone,

New here. I am looking at changing to Sky after having a Freeview box.

I am really confused about what to get. I would like to be able to have access to channels like rte, itv, bbc, channel 4, really and film 4.

What do I need to buy? I see there is Sky stream and Sky Q but found it confusing to figure it out.

We would need it in two rooms.

We also need broadband. I usually use Nowtv to get sky movies cheap on offer. Can I still do that with sky? I dont want to have to jump in and out of apps.

Hope you can help me as want to try and avail of the Black Friday offers.

Thank you,

Siobhan

Sky Q and Sky Stream are different technologies, not different content bundles (although confusingly they don't have the same channel lineup)

The essential difference is that Sky Q is a satellite television product and requires a dish signal, while Sky Stream is delivered online.

As you appear to only want free to air channels rather than subscription service then TV Essentials might be suitable (and about half the price) : note that's only available on Sky Q and not Stream.

Just a thought: given your reference to RTE, are you in UKoGB&NI or RoI?

This does make a difference to product and channel availability.

Thank you for the information!

You said that SkyQ needs a dish signal, do I need a satellite dish? Is that provided by Sky?

Also, if I get Sky Q, can I also add on Netflix or Sky movies?

Thank you,

Siobhan

Sky will install a satellite dish if the property doesn't have one.

Netflix Standard with Adverts is bundled with the default Q content subscription, and Cinema can be added to that.  Neither is included or can be added to TV Essentials.
