@cukea quick google search shows lots of issues between Samsung TV and Sky Q being reported for the past couple of years, there is a problem and it's being ignored. Clearly not enough pain for either Samsung or Sky to do anything about it.

Mine does this too, new Samsung smart TV and sky q 2tb. Works if I reboot, but also if I just leave it for 2 mins.

A quick Google search means nothing as only those who have issues post them up, aside from the thousands that do not. So please do not lecture a owner of many Samsung tv's, I currently own four ranging from a 2019 version to a 2024 one, that work fine. I spend a great deal of time on different forums and there is no common mention of any issues with Samsung tv's.
If you also do a quick Google search of LG's and SkyQ it will also reveal the same 'no signal issues'.
More than likely it is down to faulty hardware, cable or an incorrect setup.

@cuke Not lecturing just simply responding to your constant denial on here that there's not an issue. I too have multiple TVs, two of which are Samsung. This issue is only occurring on my latest Samsung and is repeatable. The solutions you proffered may work on your TV's but not everyone's as evidenced on this board and indeed the Samsung boards. Burying your head and claiming there isn't an issue isn't supported by facts.

As stated, as many issues with other manufacturers tv's and Sky. Samsung outsell it's nearest competitor by nearly 2 to 1, thus any issues should be expected to be skewed as only those who have issues post, there are thousands that don't.
As I stated I spend some time on many different forums solving issues with their tv's. Sky connection issues does not come up to the point where it is a common denominator any more than any other tv does.
Try searching in here for one, you will find just as many LG owners stating the same as you are about their tv's and Sky.
It could just as easily be said that the hardware in a Sky box is so dated this leads to compatibility issues over HDMI. But Sky will not be updating thir hardware so we're stuck with it.

There is an issue with new Samsung TVs that are able to support the sky q 4k 10 bit signal. The issue will not effect older models that either support only 1080p or 4k 8 bit.... the issue is with Samsung signal plus and sky q... it must be a software issue because both can support the highest output when you go through the steps I outlined in a earlier post. I suspect it's sky who need to update there software to accommodate the new Samsung TVs, which as you already state, have the largest market share + will only improve in terms of picture quality, as time goes on!

I have had no further issue with my tv connection to the sky box since I connected the q box to the internet by Ethernet cable.

Samsung (and others) have supported 4k 10bit for at least 5 years so it's not a new TV thing. I had one back in 2015 and had niggles with that too (and the image quality wasn't great but that was pre-oled)
imho Samsung's quality control is just not at the same level as the Japanese manufacturers (and LGs isn't much better but they are very good at resolving issues)

Yes complete rubbish on the part of the person who posted that 'gem' up.
As for build quality, I disagree that Samsung's build quality is any different from any other mainstream tv manufacturer. Problem is with all tv's the trend is to make them as thin as they can be, which can lead to bend panels if they aren't handled correctly.

The fault was intermittent with "no power" and "no signal" but now I can't get sky to work at all on the TV for the last 48 hours.
I have reset the tv to factory setting re plugged everything rebooted sky checked cables again etc. still not working

Just to let people know. I did this and had a play about with my input settings. This was over a month ago and so far my sky box has powered up with my TV everytime and I haven't had to restart it once! Would definitely recommend people have a play with the input settings on their actual TV!
