Moved house

Moved house and sky engineer came round to fit a dish and connect my sky Q box. But he said there isn't any black cables to connect the box to. He said he can't do the job. Now is it Sky's job to fit this or is it an electricians  job?

Hi @Emilyfast  That doesn't make any sense. Are you part of a communial system? I don't understand why the colour of the cables matter.

Re: Moved house

No the colour doesn't matter it's just that's the colour of the cables they were before. The problem is there isn't any going through my house. And the engineer said he can't fit them

Any what?

If it's for a dish then they drill from the outside to the inside and install them.  Any reason why they couldn't?

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Hi @Emilyfast   The installer needs an outside wall where the box is going to be sited with an outside route to the satellite dish. They will not install internal cables.

Typically not an electrician.

Sky will install an individual dish and its associated cabling where this is physically possible and the householder can give consent: that's not the case for multiple occupancy buildings, high-rises, rented accommodation and similar circumstances.
