Move to VoIP

Hi, We are soon to change to FTTP and have decided not to have a VoIP phone. There will be a broadband connection to the Q box but no land line. Do I have to have VoIP connected to the Sky Q box.

FTTP does not use 'a VoIP phone' : the 'phone' socket on the rear of the Sky Broadband Hub converts any analogue handset (or DECT basestation) to VOIP without any user intervention.

As @nigea99 indicates, Q boxes have never used a 'landline' connection (there's no socket on them for this) and the modem provision on the back of some Sky+ HD boxes hasn't been required for years.

Sky Glass 55" (on ethernet) & two Stream Pucks (one ethernet / one WiFi)
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

hi @Bigsplit

No SKY Q does not use any VoIP  (or old analogue equivalent) - just uses ordinary data broadband,  so all will be fine
