Missing Viewing card

I have had SkyTV for over 20 years but last month I cancelled it due to cost. I returned my Sky Q box, remote, viewing card etc to Sky. 

Two weeks later, after trying different providers, I decided to go back to Sky and successfully opened a new contract.

My new Sky Q box arrived promptly....BUT...did not come with a new viewing card.

3 weeks later and following 20+ phone calls (many over 1hr in duration) and 20+ online chats with Sky I have around 6 or 7 confirmations that the card is on its way....but it never arrives.

Sky tell me my account shows its 'Pre-active' so thier orders for a new card cannot be completed. 

All I need is a viewing card, Sky admit the problem is thier fault but they cannot provide any agent or department that can solve it.

I am now stock in this never ending loop where they continually tell me the issue is resolved, they send me confirmation texts that the card is on its way...but it never arrives and the process repeats.

Where do I go from here ?

Not a lot you can do other than wait for one to arrive. They are dispatched via Royal Mail. Initially Sky will have expected you to have kept your vieweing card for this very scenario (re-subscribing shortly after cancelling).

Unfortunately this situation has been raised multiple times here: Sky appears to have something of a hole in its logistics pathway (and doesn't make it at all clear they expect viewing cards to be retained)

 

Incidentally when an order is fulfilled correctly the viewing card doesn't arrive with a box anyway: it's sent separately in a letter.

They have now promised it, in writing, 7 times...and its still not here...so, I have had to book a new order, new equipment and an engineer to fit it...what a shambles they are....lets see if this works
