Mini box stuck at step 1

My sky mini box is stuck at step 1 of 4, remote doesn't seem to be responding to the box

Have you tried a remote re-pairing?

Hold down 7&9 until the remote flashes 4 times then hold down 1&3

ours has been stuck for 24 hours. Have turned off at the mains and still no joy

yes I did the remote repairing then followed the steps on the screen
