Mini box question

Does the mini box get its signal straight from the wireless router or is it connected to the main Q box ?

This is supposedly different when you don't have Sky as the ISP - We use TalkTalk....

And if so - why do we lose the use of the minibox when the router is turned off ?

but the main Q box remains working ?

hi @Wibbly-Woo 

When your home wifi is not SKY then the minis connect to the main box using a wifi Signal that SKY Q main box generates and not your home wifi.

To answer your second question - it also relies on  your router providing an ip address (via the main box) so it needs the router on as well
