Mini box freezes

two mini boxes, one started to freeze and is unwatchable. Reset, router, mini box Q main box various times. Swapped boxes over and same box still freezes and other works fine. Up to date software etc, strong Sky full fibre broadband, only conclusion is replacement box however no option on issue through link unless I lie, any help appreciated

Hi @tony+verrechia

If you have the Sky Max router then the mini boxes must be connected by WPS to the main Q box (or an already connected mini which is connected by WPS to the main Q box).

Re: Mini box freezes

Hi oldfella,

Thanks or the reply, yes both mini boxes are connected via WPS. Both boxes been working fine for 8 years, no idea why the one has started freezing. As i've said, i've tried all the suggestions within previous posts on here regarding  freezing a few times to no avail, can only asume the box is on the way out. There is no option to identify this issue when you ask for a replacement box, so at a loss what to do next unless i just claim it wont power on etc

Hi @tony+verrechia

Yes I appreciate that both minis are connected by WPS;  but is this to the main Q box?

Hi @tony+verrechia

If you connect the nearest mini to the main Q box first;  is the other mini nearer to the main Box or the first connected mini?

Re: Mini box freezes

The one that started to fail was nearest, the second upstairs. I have swapped them around and the one giving the issue which is now furthest away upstairs is still the one freezing whilst the other works fine.

Hi @tony+verrechia

Yes sorry but still cannot understand the full relationship on your 3 Q boxes..

looks like you have one mini downstairs and one upstairs.

Are you saying the one downstairs is nearest to the main Q box and this was failing when connected by WPS to the main Q box.

Also which box is nearest to the upstairs mini?

Re: Mini box freezes

ok, main Q box and one mini downstairs, one mini upstairs. Downstairs boxes 10' apart albeit a wall between. Mini box upstairs is more or less equi distance between the two downstairs. The failing mini works neither upstairs or downstairs without freezing
