Mini Box Wifi Speed?

Hi,

I'm in the process of using wires to connect all my boxes so I dont keep getting drop outs from wifi (eg. non Sky Broadband).

I'll use an ehternet cable direct to the Sky Q Main Box and most of the minis but that will be a problem for one of the minis.

I saw somewhere that the mini boxes can only transfer at 100MB/s. Is this still the case? Just trying to work out if my WD Livewire Powerlines at 200MB/s will be suitable for this mini box without slowing it down too much?

Hi @Jinxy999

the spec of the RJ45 Ethernet port on the mini doesn't limit it's function as 200 Mb/sec is more than ample.

If you are using Powerline it's best to have them as fast as possible.   The listed rated is highly unlikely to be achievable in practice.

You will not know if they are functional until you try them.

Power line is not guaranteed and depends heavily on the condition and complexity of your mains Circuit.

Re: Mini Box Wifi Speed?

Thanks oldfella.

I wont be able to sort the wires for a few weeks and things have gone from bad to worse so thought I'd try moving to static IP to see if that helps for now.

Any suggestions for how I choose the actual IP for this?
