Sky Q box keeps freezing and i have to power down continually to get it back

Just in normal use, we will be watching a channel, then go to change channel and nothing happens. We end up having to power off and on to clear. The issue is happening daily

Try a Reset Settings in the Q box hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the Q box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.
Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.
Resetting the settings will also reset:
Audio visual settings, such as picture resolution and HDMI control
Settings changed within the hidden engineer menu, include LNB type. If on a communal dish you need to reset the LNB to SCR in the hidden menu. After changing the LNB type you need to reboot the Q box.
If the issue continues best to contact Sky for an Engineer to check your equipment

Did you find out what was coursing the problem they have replaced my dish and 3 main sky Q 2TB boxes, he is going to try a 1TB box to see if that has the problem too now.

@jason+alldridge @Did this solve your problem? I'm having to restart 4-5 times a day....and that's the replacement box!

I am having same problem. Every day it is happening. Sometimes don't notice until I want to change channel or look at TV guide. Nothing works via remote. Can't turn off even. Have to switch off at mains. Very frustrating as losing some recordings due to "power cut" but its not! If watching a recording blue circle continues and red light on if recording something else.

The engineer was very thorough, checked everything - changed the power unit for a new one and changed the sky connectors on the satellite feed. Told us it might make a difference, but it might not. He said he couldn't understand what the problem was or why it was happening.
It didnt make any difference, the box froze again less than 3 hours later 🤦🏼♀️

Also having the same issues. Sky q freezing and cooling fan keeps radomnly coming on. Only way to reboot is to pull the power cord out. Now on the 3rd sky q box. Already had an engineer visit no change. Sky saying the soonest they can get an engineer out is in 3 weeks. Absolute joke.

No, still the same.
we have plugged the sky box into a smart plug though, so we just tell Alexa to turn the damn thing off and on again. Just makes it a tiny bit less of an **bleep** ache.
