Lost satalite signal

My dish requires replacing due to age and we've lost connectivity. I've arranged an engineer but now I've lost all sky functions. Is this because the box has no signal?  Surely I should still be able to watch recordings or on demand?

Unfortunately not.  The satellite provides a 'keep alive' signal and your box will stop working - it may take days or weeks...

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Hi @baz.rich5424

Afraid a Q box will cease to function without a Satellite signal after a period of time as it needs a periodic communication with Sky via satellite.
