Location Issue

Hello,

 

I'm having issue with sky box giving me location issue. Kindly whitelist my ip inorder to get this sorted.

@kushal01 Afraid you are not contacting Sky's customer services on here, this is a customer to customer forum where customers help each other.


I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

No, that won't happen.  If your ISP is issuing public addresses registered outside the UK/RoI then that's their problem to sort out.

Which ISP is this, and where does the address appear to be located on typical 'what is my IP' sites?

My provider is Octaplus Supercharged. The IP Location is showing UK but SKY Q box is giving me location issue. I was reading one thread, where the SKY team whitelisted the IP and issue got sorted.

They didn't whitelist it as such, but I know what you mean - they updated their (possibly 3rd party) IP:geo mapping database so effectively you're right. I'll escalate this, hopefully they can do the same for you. Look out for a blue chat bubble.

OK, that's a very small ISP using an 'altnet' full-fibre distribution.  I think you'll need to log the issue with Sky, emphasise it's an ISP/routing thing rather than a local issue and then, unfortunately, anticipate quite a delay in resolution.

On this page (or anywhere on the forum), when they invite you to a private chat to discuss, it will manifest as a blue chat bubble overlay.
