Lip Sync issues with the Sky Q Box
I'm having Lip Sync issues with my Sky Q Box.
I've discovered if you turn off the Dolby on the box it cures the problem.
So does that mean the only way to watch Sky with the voices in sync with the picture is with the Dolby turned off.
I've had numerous visits from Sky engineers. Brand new Tv, Sound Bar, HDMI cables. House and dish wiring check by Sky engineers and still have this problem.
Sky doesn't seem to have a answer to this scenario.

How are they connected?
Are you using ARC?

Yes, it's Sky Q - they need that.

A little more detail would help... Is the Q connected to another HDMI on the TV or does it passthrough the sound bar?

Try pcm or passthrough in your tv audio settings and make sure eARC is turned on and the soundbar is connected to hdmi port 3.

Nope
hdmi from sky box to yamaha amp. Another Hdmi from yamaha (eARC port) to Panasonic TV (eARC port)
so of course it doesn't use eARC for transferring the sky audio signal but all works fine. No lipsync issues.
have you tried changing any audio settings on the TV as per the suggestions above?
is the sound ahead of or behind the picture?

Re: Lip Sync issues with the Sky Q Box
I only asked because I've just discovered if you put a audio cable in between the Sky Box and sound bar or Sky box and tv, but still leave the HDMI cable connected, and then in the Sky Box menu turn off the HDMI Dolby and turn on the Audio out Dolby it sorts out the lip sync issue.

After writing about an answer to the lip sync issue 20 minutes ago I'm now not so sure it's the answer, might be back to the drawing board.

Re: Lip Sync issues with the Sky Q Box
Look at your cable. I had this issue with a High Speed HDMI, this has insufficient bandwidth for 4k 2160p 10bit. Upgraded to an Ultra High Speed HDMI and issue sorted.
My LG tv is 4k 120hz OLED

That's odd. Why would a lack of bandwidth cause a lipsync issue? And what is "high speed HDMI"? HDMI 2.0 certified cables which is 18Gbps is more than enough for the res you mentioned plus audio.

Re: Lip Sync issues with the Sky Q Box
I did not have a Premium High Speed HDMI cable which is as you say certified to 18gbps so have not tested this. High Dpeed HDMI is rated to 10.2Gbps which is exceeded when 2160p 10 bit is selected on a 4k screen according to the organisation that certifies HDMI.
When I started having the issue following the purvhase of a new TV LG stated that the sound was being processed before the picture was finished being processed hence the sync issue.
Using the App on the TV rather than the Sky Q box also solved the issue for me.
Replacing the cable as discribed above worked for me as well not just for the lip sync issue but also for out of step subtitles and washed out colour on Apple TV (Netflux, Prime, Paramount etc were all fine for colour but not for lip sync)
