I was recorded the Coventry v. Man U FA cup semi-final on my Sky Q box this afternoon (21/04/2024). The match had continued for 30 mis extra time + penalty shootout.
When I came to play it back I realised that the recording stopped just as the second 15mins of extra time was starting. It had lost the last 15 mins + shootout. Very frustating!
Is this the fault of ITV (the broadcaster) or Sky? Shouldn’t the possible 30mins plus have been allowed in the recording?
Does anyone have any views on this? Thanks.

Afraid it often happens with live Sports @apemyr
Some broadcasters do change the running time but in many some don't.
I suppose it could be difficult if it is going to affect other scheduled programs.
Only thing to do when recording live Sports that is capable of overrunning is to set the following program to record.

'Unplanned' schedule changes are hard to deal with. Best advice is to record the following programme too if there's a chance the primary one will overrun.

Went to Extra time + pens, they didn't schedule in the time for that
They only scheduled in the 90 mins.
You should be able to get the full match on ITV Hub

I recorded it and got to see the penalty shoot out, I guess it might depend which region you get, Central East here.

@apemyr strange - my recording of the match contained all extra time and penalties.

Thank you for all your replies. Very useful!
Seems the only way to see the whole match if extra time and/or penalties is possible, is to record the following program as well. This seems a bit low-tech this day and age, especially since some ITV regions seem to have handled the situation better and recorded the complete game. If some regions can do it, why not every region, since losing the last 15mins+penalties of such an exciting match was so disappointing.
Anyway, I watched the end today on ITV catchup.
Again, thanks for your great feedback.
