LG50UT94006LA compatibility

I’ve been asked a few times by Sky to opt for a free up-grade from my Sky+HD box to Sky Q.

I’ve read a few negative posts on here regarding compatibility between the Sky Q box and LG TVs.

I’m 77 a bit hard of hearing and last year bought an LG TV: LG50UT91006LA so my wife could listen to the sound from the TV speaker and I could listen at a louder volume using Sony RF earphones. If the wife went off to bed, I could turn off the speaker on the TV and still listen through the ear phones.  I do have a separate Q Acoustics speaker/sound box but I don’t use it.

I “think” LG are only one of a few TVs which have this dual facility.

I know that posters are more likely to post when they have a problem rather than posting something positive.

Please, is there anyone out there who has a similar LG TV to mine who has had NO PROBLEMS whatsoever: they haven’t had to keep resetting, plugging and re-plugging etc?

Has anyone, had an initial problem, did a fix and never had to go back and do it again?

TIA

hi @Archie7249

I can't give any advice regarding the LG Tvs other than to advise, as you say, only those with problems tend to post and many, many people do have LG TVs without any problems

I thought I would post to say that whilst SKY are keen to get evryone to move from SKY HD, if yours is working then  moving to SKY Q is not necessary (although can bring some benefits such as UHD (ast cost))

I think you may, also, wish to read some notes I have made for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q

SKY +/HD to SKY Q

Any further questions, do not hesitate to ask

Thanks,

I'm hoping that other posters with LG TVs might be able to post some positive advice regarding what they did when they had a problem and what they did to correct it.

I have an LG TV and have never had a problem with Sky Q on it.

I've never had a problem with my LG TV and Sky Q. My previous Samsung sets, they were alway problematic with any Sky box that connected via a HDMI cable.
