Just received my box and nothing is working??

I have received my sky Q box and have followed all the steps the app told me to do to set it up and now I cannot get off this page on the screen

Are you sure it's a Q box you have and not a Stream puck?

That sounds  like a sky puck, is it connected to the Internet,  by the wifi, can you  try to connect it with an ethernet cable? On the back of the box is there just 3 connections the power, hdmi, and an ethernet port ? If so it's a  sky puck,

It's never gotten to a stage for me to connect to the WiFi, and my internet box is the other end of the room so cannot have the box plugged into tv and via Ethernet, I left it plugged into Ethernet and not tv for a software update for over and hour and then was going through the "set-up" stage, connected remote etc and then it just came to this... is sky chat only open Thursday-Saturday?? 
this is really disappointing
