Jumping back when fast forwarding

When choosing to 'watch from the start', and then the show gets to an ad break, we can't fastforward because we don't pay the extra to do so which is fine. But when the ad break is over it keeps jumping back to the beginning of the ad. 
I can fast forward through it then but each time the tv show restarts it just jumps back again to the start of the ad break.
