It's at it again broadband dropped out again

Sky Q hub tells me that it is connected in the Status Summary, and has 3 green indicator showing. But when I use the Sky Service Checker I get "we cannot test your broadband right now" "Sorry our tests are not availiable " "etc etc" Sky Q Main box no internet service. This has been happening for a couple of months now.

Sky Q Main box will log onto my MR600, great, but I lose access to the Apps. Cannot cancel comtract as it will cost me over £400 cancellation cost and the price for Sky will be going up.

Does normal internet access work?

Re: It's at it again broadband dropped out again

Not to the Sky Q devices, but it did seem to work with the alexa, home heating control and camera cloud storage, I could be wrong here, this morning rebooted the hub and the Sky Service Checker say every time is ok again. But at the moment I have managed to get the Sky Q Main box and Mini box running from my MR600 but the only problem is I cannot do an instant download of a program but the apps are working.

Re: It's at it again broadband dropped out again

Sorry, as before, it did seem to work with the alexa etc, but I have a Adax heater in the conseratory and that was offline, so I would say on the Sky Q hub the lights are on but there is no one in, the hub was also telling me it was connect when I logged into it.

Phone connected to the WiFi, can you browse the Internet with it?

Re: It's at it again broadband dropped out again

When I linked my mobile to Sky Q WiFi no internet, as before all Hub indicators on and green. Hub was indicating it was online when I logged into the Hub via my browser.

Re: It's at it again broadband dropped out again

Powered the Sky Q Hub down and restarted it internet thro' the Hub now working again for how long your guess is as good mine, check it thro' computer as it is linked via the wifi to Sky broadband and cable connected to my MR600 router. Because of these consistent drop outs the Sky Q main box and Mini-box running currently  thro' MR600 router, every works except being able to download programs where the Sky Q main box states it has not got an internet connection, so how do the apps run via the dish or via the internet, I assume via the internet as they load 10 to 15 times faster thro' the MR600.

Re: It's at it again broadband dropped out again

Went in the dining room and the Mini Box is offline now, so after resetting the Hub, Main Box and Mini Box three times they are now talking to each other. See how long it takes for the Hub to lose the internet again. When you consider that the Hub is less that 3.5 mtrs away from the Main box and the Mini box is between the Hub and Main box it is unbelieveable.

That's inside relatively  painless ethernet distance

but it sounded like your hub was losing the internet completely so not necessarily a Q problem?

Re: It's at it again broadband dropped out again

Hi there

This has been going on for months, the Hub always indicates that it is connected, three green lights and then for example Alexa tells us it's lost the internet when my better half want to listen to her Audio books,  I have the Sky Service Checker on as a bookmark I use it so much and yes I get as usual  "we cannot test your broadband right now" "Sorry our tests are not availiable " "etc etc" and the Sky Q Main box no internet service. What I cannot understand is when I log onto the hub it say it is connected. After that I have to switch of the Hub, Main box and Mini box to get it all running again and that take three or four times.  My MR600 can be logged onto by the Main and Mini boxes within minutes but I lose options like cannot down load programs as there is no internet connection, but there is as the apps work. £430 to cancel Sky Q which plays up half the time.

This sounds like a broadband problem, not a Q problem

Re: It's at it again broadband dropped out again

Broadband has always been hit and miss as we are at the "end of the line". I have always run a TP-Link MR600 4g lte router or similar to guarantee I have a working broadband at all times. If sky mer would run on a 4 / 5g router I would throw the Sky hub in the bin.
