Re: Issues with ITV
@oj01 Thank you for this but those were the very words of the Sky Customer Support person I spoke to yesterday. On top of that they said they will *not* be sending an engineer out given my Sky +HD box is not compatible with ITV anymore. It makes no sense to me but I am furious.

Hi @Psych67
Unfortunately, SKY have actually stopped supporting SKY HD boxes so wouldn't send an engineer - for box issues themselves you would need to look at second hand SKY HD boxes or to upgrade to Q / switch to Stream
As I say, there is not an issue with SKY HD boxes receiving ITV channels so the problem will be in your Communal distribution system & needs to be looked at by whoever maintains it

Just to endorse @nigea99's reply. Sky+HD boxes are still capable of receiving the ITV channels, regardless of what Sky may have told you (presumably to encourage you to switch to one of the other TV platforms)

Re: Issues with ITV
@nigea99 Thank you for this, but I have just spoken to 4 different people (teams) at Sky, including the retentions team, billing team, some other team and the technical team and they are *all* saying that ITV is no longer compatible with the Sky + HD box.
I've come away from this whole stupid saga with £10.00 off my bills-they've locked me into an 18 month contract for the privilege! given I am having problems with ITV. I am *not* eligible for a Sky Q box, and I don't want Sky Streaming Puck. I have a 31 day cooling off period and really need to think of next steps.

Some Staff training needed methinks - ITV will work on SKY HD boxes

Re: Issues with ITV
Mark-apologies-I think I thought I was replying to @nigea99 before. I agree with you 100% and I had even said that to them....that this sounds like a ploy to get me to upgrade to "X, Y or Z" but they were adamant that they no longer manufacture Sky + HD boxes and therefore cannot send out an engineer. They did however suggest I ask my managing agent to contact them-we have a communal Sky dish-I've just emailed my managing agent. I also argued with Sky the fact that given I already have a Sky + HD box, I should be able to view the same channels I was able to 3 years ago, when I got this box. 🙄
I am so furious about this whole situation.

Hi @Psych67
As I posted earilier the support from SKY for SKY HD boxes has ceased and they won't send an engineer.
This of course is different to being told that SKY HD boxes won't work with ITV -- which is not correct

That isn't correct as I can view all the ITV channels on my Sky+ box. I wonder if they are thinking of ITVx which we can not access on these boxes.

or selective hearing - hearing 'SKY +' but not 'SKY + HD'

Re: Issues with ITV
@nigea99 I'm quite sure they understood me to mean ITV (and not ITV x).

Re: Issues with ITV
Just to update those who are interested in this thread: I filled in a complaints form via the Sky website and three different Sky reps replied:
1. Having accessed to your Sky Account, I see that you have been subscribed to Sky TV (Sky Signature, Sky Cinema) of Sky Q +HD Box.
However, I wish to inform you that Sky+HD boxes cannot run apps like ITVx. You would indeed need to upgrade to Sky Q or Sky Stream.
Hence you have to upgrade your to Sky Q services in order to view your channels.
I appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.
Alternatively, you can also contact our Customer Service Team on ____ between 9am to 8pm, where one of our advisors will be happy to help.
2. Thank you for your email with regards your Sky TV Service.

I hope this information has helped with your enquiry. If you require any further assistance, you can respond to my email.
3. Having accessed your Sky Account, I see that you have Sky +HD box and the ITV channel you can access only on Sky Q and Sky Glass or Sky Stream.
I am sorry to inform you that, we are not providing engineer visit or technical support regarding Sky +HD box.
However, you can upgrade to Sky Glass or Sky Stream in order to view the channel and enjoy the latest entertainment services.
I appreciate your understanding in this matter.

It is clear that the person who replied to me in reply #1 did think I was referring to ITVx-I replied to them, clarifying that I was referring to ITV (Channel 103) and then I received reply #2).
I am so dissatisfied with their responses, I cannot tell you, especially because Sky Q is not an option for me given I live in a block of flats. Incidentally, my managing agent said their engineer will be visiting tomorrow to have a look at the communal dish to see if there are any issues.
Will update you here with any new developments.

Re: Issues with ITV
I'm the OP and my issue was resolved with a faulty cable on one of the polarities. Sky channels have horizonatal and vertical feeds from the dish and the one feeding ITV was faulty. So there is a chance this might be your issue. Can you see BBC News as I also lost this channel.
