I have a LG G2 (before this had a C1 and the issue persisted there too) and there seems to be an issue with the Sky Q boxes when the resolution is set to 4K 10Bit and the box goes to sleep and fails to power back on to give a signal.
I've tried multiple HDMI cables and I had this same issue with a previous Sky Q box which had other issues hence replaced but I cannot figure out whether this a setting I am overseeing or what.
When I turn the TV on in the morning and the box is in standby mode, it will turn on and emit a solid green light but there is literally no picture output. The only way I've managed to get it to work again is to unplug the box from power and let it do a full reboot, at which point it goes back to 1080p.
Has anyone else faced this issue? Very frustrating to say the least.

I am having a similar issue with LG G4 but unplugging and reconnecting the HDMI lead in the back of the Sky box works. I have found if you change the 4K setting on the Sky box to 8-bit it seems to fix this along with sound and picture split second drop outs.
I am checking mine for a couple of days and will get on to Sky and see what they suggest. Bit of a pain but I would rather leave on 8-bit then turn 10-bit on when I want to watch UHD channels.

Unfortunately the G4 was released with HDMI issues that LG tried to resolve but all they've done is introduce new ones. Hopefully a firmware will be released that will eventually sort this out.

Yes, most days and I am still rocking an LG B6 from 2016.
This is a long standing issue with LG TVs and Sky kit, although I have to be fair and say this doesn't happen with any other kit I use (Apple TV 4K, Xbox, EE TV Pro), only Sky.
It also only happens on my OLED to the main Q box, the bedroom LG (UHD LCD 43" £199 special offer from Richer Sounds), which is connected to our one and only Sky Q mini box, has never had the issue.
As @cuke has mentioned, every time LG try to fix HDMI handshake issues, they somehow make it worse!
In my experience, when I turn on Q and get the green light but nothing on screen, I simply power the box off and on again from the remote to get a picture.
Very occasionally I have to turn the TV and box off, but then on restart all is well.
Things may have changed @Simonb73 but I thought you need the box output on 10bit to get UHD HDR otherwise it is just UHD (a brighter picture which some prefer admittedly)?

Thanks for the reply. Yes you're right I will have to switch to 10-bit to watch sky UHD in HDR.
All issues (sound and picture drop outs and HDMI start up) went when using 8-bit. All problems started when I got a Sky Q HDR box last year and my old LG OLED started having the HDMI start up issue but not every time. Before that HDR box I had zero issues with this. So I am assuming it is Sky. I will have a read through the thread later this afternoon. Thanks again
