Issue with Sky Minibox

Hello,

 

I have an issue with my sky MiniBox,  it keeps freezing live TV and also screen flickers when watching anything on the TV.  Please can you help.

@Jayne94 Have you tried rebooting your main Q box ie
putting your box into Standby then switching it off at the wall for 30 seconds
switch it back on then follow the on screen instructions

then

reboot your mini

I have had the same problem and if I'm being honest resetting and doing everything people are saying don't really work ( for me anyway) what did work if you can is hard wire your mini boxes into the sky booster box (white one) after a reset and a few hours of running not one flicker or judder

Thanks, yes tried rebooting and every trouble shooting item on the list.  Eventually I have received a new Mini Box and the problem is not sorted.  Thank you so much for your help.

Hi @Jayne94 

Certainly looks like a connectivity issue rather than a fault with the mini.

Have you carried out a Network reset on the mini box?

Network Reset found in mini Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to WPS with main Q box.
You will be asked to press the WPS button on the main Q box (not the mini as the Network reset will start the mini WPS automatically).

If you are on Sky Broadband and the Router is nearer to the mini than the main box then you can try pressing WPS on the router instead of the main Q box. If you do this make sure you press the Sky router WPS button and not the router reset button. If you have the new Sky Max white router then you need to connect the WPS to the main Q box.

Failing all of the above you may need a Sky Q WiFi Booster to position midway between your main Q box and the mini and you will need to contact Sky directly.
