Intermittent satellite signal

Sky Sports Main Event - never a problem with the satellite signal.  Sky Sports Mix - picture gradually deteriorates until left with a frozen mass of coloured pixels.  TNT Sport all channels (via Sky satellite) - OK for less than a minute, the blue screen "channel affeted by problem with satellite signal".  After about 15 minutes, usually springs into life and goes for hours before it starts to pixellate.  In a flat but other communal users don't seem to have the same issues.  Any ideas?!

@GavinY I have escalated this to sky

You may receive an email or a private message inviting you to have a private conversation on the Community with a Sky Expert.

Look out for a chat bubble at the bottom of your screen inviting you to a chat
If you are using the Safari browser please make sure that Hide IP Address is not checked in order to see the chat bubble. If you are having trouble finding this to check the settings, use another browser such as Firefox, Chrome etc.

The link below explains how the escalation process works

Re: Intermittent satellite signal

I have the same issues as you for the past few weeks the picture gradually deteriorates until left with a frozen mass of coloured pixels but now I've no channels at all this week just says their is a problem with your satellite signal did the whole plug out and back in and check wires etc nothing fixed it unfortunately and weather isn't bad out either so ain't that. I've come cross a good few people with the same issues so must be a issues on sky's end why else would a number of people have the same issues I've decided to stop bank payments because I shouldn't be paying all that money for a service I cannot use and no one responds back to you. I ain't in a flat though im in a house do you know anyone  else in your block with same issues?

hi @Maz2009

If there was a problem with the Satellite signal from the Satellites  these forums would be in melt down

THe problem you have is localised to your box/cabling/dish & you will need to call SKY to arrange an engineer to visit

Cancelling your Direct debit is completely the wrong thing to do as this will result in you being in debt to SKY when they will restrict your services until it i srestored and my pass any debt on to debt collectors and could affect your credit rating in general,

Re: Intermittent satellite signal

  • No I've a few people I know who have the same thing happen to them too even my sister has the same problem as me but her problem only started mine going on weeks now I've tried contacting them getting no response from them. It could be a box problem as the problem started after the box updated itself which maybe it's a issue with the update software. Must check from the others if their box updated lately and if they too had issues after or before it.

Re: Intermittent satellite signal

Hello everybody. Thanks for all the suggestions. I managed to have a chat on here with someone at Sky and they did some troubleshooting, to no avail. Am going to get the communal satellite chap out to have a look, must be a tiny bit out of alignment is thought to be the issue.
