Intermittent fault between router and Q box

Connection between Sky hub and Qbox drops out on intermittent basis and needs to be reconnected. Have done all online tests and followed help guides. What else can I do?

Re: Intermittent fault between router and Q box

Is this a wireless connection?

Ethernet connection (or ethernet via powerline) is usually rock solid. Wireless is subject to all sorts of problems including interference from other devices in your house or neighbours etc. ie their wireless signals swamping yours, or microwave ovens or dect phones close to (or  in the path between ) your skyQ box and router. If it was previously OK, then I'd be inclined to look for interference (or change to ethernet and have done with it!)

Re: Intermittent fault between router and Q box

Hi. I have a similar experience to @MAT49, but I lose wifi on my other devices too - phone and laptop. I switch the hub off and back on again to resolve the problem. I don't recall having this problem before I got a new Q box a year ago. It happens every three or four days, sometimes longer. Ethernet would'nt help here? Any other thoughts? My friends tell me I just need a new router! (it's a fairly old SR102)

Thanks

David
