Interference when using my iPhone 15

When making a call on my iPhone 15 I experience interference on my Sky Q picture on the TV connected to the main box. I have tried using a new HDMI cable but this has had no impact. Any suggestions appreciated. Thank you.

Satellite or streaming content?

do you have wifi calling turned on? Assuming this is a voice call via your mobile carrier and not facetime / whatsapp

It's Sattelite and the calls are made via the O2 network

Bizarre. never had an issue (mix of iphones from 12 to 15 here, all on O2 but I think we all have wifi calling on and there's also no 5G) Suggests maybe a cable shielding issue. I wonder if the frequencies of the mobile network and satellite channels interfere somehow.

For a bit of diagnosis, could turn off 5G on the handset

maybe try turning on wifi calling too

if you play something stored on the hard drive does it happen?

Re: Interference when using my iPhone 15

As per your suggestion, when the issue occurred this evening, I started to watch a recorded program and there was no issue. I also tried changing the sky channel and the issue was not present. It appears to be specific to channel 109 U & Allibi HD.

@SteveeW  U&Alibi are in Frequency 12363V other channels here are Nickelodeon UK And Ch4 South East & Channel 4 Scotland, if you have access to one of these other channel it's worth checking if those are affected.

If so are we maybe looking at a Local Oscilator frequency issue interference through the satellite cable?

Re: Interference when using my iPhone 15

I have just checked Channel 4 and it's the exactly the same issue.

Should I give Sky a call?

One 5G band uses 24GHz to 40GHz

It could be some kind of interference caused by some harmonic transmissions being exactly double the 12.363GHz of that band

if you call with 5G disabled, I assume it resolves it?

Re: Interference when using my iPhone 15

5G isn't used for calls on O2.

Will using 5G affect quality of voice calls?

No – 5G is a data service only and therefore won't impact calls. If you're connected to 5G and make/receive a call, your phone will automatically switch to 4G. For better call quality, you can always enable Wifi and 4G Calling if your phone supports these features.
