Input switching

SKY Q box keeps switching from HDM3-ARC to HDM1 when changing programs have to go to TV cotrol to switch back. Very annoying.

hi @MikeHawk

If I understand your post correctly, do you have SKY Q connected to the ARC designated HDMI input on your TV

ARC output HDMIs are designed for using external sound equipment - although if you don't have any  they can be used for inputs but, personally, I would recommend using a different HDMI input for SKY Q

Either way, I would suggest taking out the HDMI cable from both SKY Q box & TV and then reseating it back in both.

BTW @MikeHawk

Assuming your SKY Q remote is paired with your TV then you should be able to use the SKY Q remote to change Inputs  - The 'source' button on the Top Right of the latest SKY remotes

Also - I know this doesn;t cure your problem but pressing the Home (or SKY) button on the SKY Q remote should - if CEC control is on switch back to SKY but would then need to press the dismiss button to go back to the channel from the Home or recordings menus

Re: Input switching

Yes, and we have a Sky Sound Bar.

I know the SKY Soundbar doesn't support ARC but IIRC it does allow HDMI pas through so do you route SKY Q via the Soundbar  (i.e SKY Q to Soundbar HDMI In then Soundbar HDMI Out to TV HDMI3) ?

@MikeHawk

'Sky Soundbox' rather than 'Sky Sound Bar'

The Soundbox manual showed the suggested setup for use with Sky Q like this:

Note that audio from the TV set to the Soundbox is routed over the television optical output: as @nigea99 indicates, Sky didn't see fit to provision the Soundbox for ARC, which may be one reason why it didn't last long as a product.

Scans from this thread provided by @mike+simmonds who probably knows more about the Soundbox than the rest of us put together

Re: Input switching

Seems to have fixed it, especially as the Sky Engineer had removed the optical cord. Thanks.
