We have 2 children under the age of 12. So we set our parental settings for U and PG films.
Last night we saw the ugly image of the Black Phone Box horror movie on the home page of Sky. We can't remove it so our children see it every time they turn the TV on.
Then I checked to see what would happen if they clicked on Watch Trailer and despite the trailer being a 15 (remember we have our Parental Settings for U & PG) I was able to watch the trailer without using my PIN code. So my children would be able to watch the trailer. What's the point of Parental Settings if they see adverts for inappropriate films amd can watch trailers for any film!

Hi @Mrs+QE
Unfortunately I think the people that do the Home Screen banners etc don't always think about Family settings although they should
As for the trailer, things can occasionally slip through - although sometimes trailers can be considered Universas or PG even if the film itself isn't - I can't comment on this specific
Probably worth sending your thoughts to viewerR@sky.uk

Hi @Mrs+QE Click on the link Here to place your SKYQ box into Kids Safe Mode, hopefully this should stop any nasties from popping up when the kids use SKY Q?
I used to have superpowers… But a therapist took them away.

Re: Inappropriate trailers not blocked on parental settings
Thank you for your reply but I don't want to use Kids Mode which is why I set up the Parental Settings as that is surely the point of them.

The choice is yours if you don't want to use Kids Mode the other option not to see unsuitable content on the Home screen is to press the Sky logo top of the remote takes you straight to recordings.
Pressing the logo will turn your tv on and your Sky Q box @Mrs+QE

Re: Inappropriate trailers not blocked on parental settings
@ChodleyI think it may depend on your watching history like the recommendations are supposed to.
However you can see why they give away films like "Shazam" as no one is going to buy it.

Re: Inappropriate trailers not blocked on parental settings
Once again thank you for your reply but neither suggestion solves the issue that my children could watch the trailer for a 15 rated horror movie despite the Parent Settings.

@Mrs+QE I'd follow @nigea99 suggestion of reporting this to Sky at viewerR@sky.uk

Re: Inappropriate trailers not blocked on parental settings
I just found this post because I was googling exactly the same thing - I don't want me 2 year old to see this horrible picture everytime I go to the Home Screen! I don't need to put the tv into kids mode as she doesn't have control of the tv, but I don't want to see this picture and I don't want her to either.

Re: Inappropriate trailers not blocked on parental settings
I've emailed viewerR@sky.uk and they are looking into the trailer playing without a Pin code. When they come back to me I will say again that images like that do not need to be on the Home screen, especially as we have no viewing history of watching horror films.
Perhaps if you email as well they might re- consider what they put on the Home screen.

Re: Inappropriate trailers not blocked on parental settings
Hi I also found this thread as experienced the same thing. I dont expect my kids to be exposed to something so sinister just putting on the TV. I'm really concerned that this has been allowed to happen. Happy to also send an email!
