Hi @Avfc75   As has been explained many times, it is a TV Licence, not a BBC Licence.

Hi pal

do you really believe that? Some other channels use bbc broadcasting equipment but are not dependent on it

so originally it was about the bbc and they push its something to be proud of no ads

do we really need all the channels trying to please everyone and nation radio then every region has a station every ethnic group has a station I've no problem with diversity and different strokes for different folks but other channels/ stations offer this without compulsory payment and if I don't like what they do I can watch/listen to something I do but I don't watch or listen to the rubbish they push on us but I still have to pay and I understand they have changed the interpretation from bbc to live stream but if you don't watch or listen and do not use any equipment of there's why should you pay? The only thing I remember watching was top gear when clarkson was on

@Avfc75 it's up to you to understand your legal obligations and pay what is due. Whether you think it's right or not doesn't matter.

TV Licensing is unusual in that if you don't pay, you earn a criminal record.

Notable how these arguments are so often presented in incomprehensible grammar and punctuation, paired with a singular inability to comprehend what other people have already written, attempting to explain that the license, whether you agree with it or not, covers all live TV channels.

I'm not denying it's already been said but people are free to express their opinions and for you having a dig at people for grammar to me is pathetic so if someone is not educated to your liking then you dismiss them?
Im just a working class tradesman so maybe I can't write like you but I bet you can't fit pipes or weld doesn't mean they are beneath you!! No one was arguing just having their say

The education we all got in this country is enough to read the responses people have been generous enough with their time to give in an attempt to explain why this has nothing to do with Sky

and sorry but someone conplaining about out the usual "woke" nonsense is not related to what job they do or skills they have. It's related to whether they think it's ok to represent a diverse society and perspectives on TV.

This forum isn't here for people to have their say. There are plenty of places to do that. It's to get solutions to actual problems.

including radio why should you pay?

As long as no licenceable activity is conducted at the address, no license is required.

Licenceable activity is viewing or recording any channel as it is being broadcast.

And yes, this is a bodge to fund a state broadcaster without direct taxation, which every government for very nearly a century (seventeen of them) has chosen to perpetuate.

Unfortunately some seem to not realise this is a support forum for issues with Sky equipment and its delivery of and not one for just their own personal opinion.
