I'm trying to call sky direct so I can speak to them on the phone but I'm finding it hard because all they keep saying is used the internet and then when I do call them I get an automated service come up but I am finding it hard to pay my bill so do they want my money or not!!

If you need to contact them you need to persevere by phone.

Similar to calling a lot of large companies the start will be an automated response which may try to send you back to the forum.

Yes, these voice response systems should be illegal. There are very, very few that are actually quite good at analysing speech (and even tone of voice) and getting you through to the right person.
