I am currently using the old sky box & have been advised this is no longer receiving updates & i need a sky Q box to replace it

Note the lack of software updates does not men your SKY HD box will stop working - in fact the SKY HD boxes have not had any updates for a long time
Anyway as @Daniel0210 indicates, you may wish to read some notes I have made for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q
