I have a sky q box and I have virgin media WiFi but on the sky box it won't let me select connect WiFi from a different company.

Hi @Charlie103
First reset your broadband router.
On 3rd party broadband and your router does not have a reset button, reboot it by disconnecting the power lead for 30 secs and then reconnecting.
Wait until the router is completely back and running and then try a Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect by WiFi to your router. Even if reset is not listed there is still an option to connect by WiFi to Sky or 3rd party router
On 3rd party (non Sky ) broadband then you need to enter the SSID and password for the router 2.4 Ghz WiFi band.

I can't get that far the problem I have is that it won't let my select connect to Wi-Fi from another broadband provider.

@oldfella it just says connect to a Wi-Fi with different service provider but it won't let me click on it.

Hi @Charlie103
On your Q remote press and hold 7 & 9 on the remote until it's led flashes four times.
This will set the remote to infrared mode which will work all boxes in line of site.
Reboot the Q and try the Network reset again and then see if the remote will let you select the option,
Remember to point the remote at the Qbox
If you can get the Q box working then repair the remote by pressing 1 & 3 and following onscreen instructions.

You only press 1 & 3 when you the get the main Q box connectected to your WiFi.
You leave the remote in infrared mode to allow you to make the selection in the Network reset.
Did you do just the 7 & 9 and then carry out the Network reset again?

Yes and then tried to connect and it still wouldn't let me select it.

I unplugged the router for a couple of minutes and then went onto my sky q box.
Then I went and pressed the home button,
then press and held 7 and 9. The. Went to network and tried and it didn't work.

Did the led on the remote flash four times when you pressed 7 &

To help I need to know exactly each step and what was selected and what was shown onscreen at each step
