Possibly, providing there are no ongoing support or installation implications. Better really to tell Sky that you have other Freesat equipment that you want to continue to use and ask them for a compatible LNB to be provided by the installer

Hi @Johno1

If the Hybrid LNB is definitely a Sky Q version then I'm sure the Installer would be prepared to fit it but no guarantees.

Hi @Johno1   The Sky EL027 and EL028 Hybrid LNBs use the Sky standard 37.5 mm mounting collar, but several commercial compatible Hybrid LNBs use a 40 mm mounting collar and rely upon the standard 37.5 mm Sky MiniDish mounting collar being replaced by a 40 mm collar.

If the LNB mounting collar was changed to 40 mm it would mean that any Sky engineer attending an LNB fault in the future would need to replace this non Sky standard component with a Sky standard 37.5 mm LNB mounting collar, before they could fit a Sky Hybrid LNB to your Sky MiniDish.

Thus, if you had informed Sky that you wanted to retain the ability to use your existing Freesat receivers in the future your Sky engineer would hopefully arrive with a Sky EL027 / EL028 LNB maintaining the use of the standard Sky MiniDish 37.5 mm mounting collar.

So, if your Sky engineer does not have a Sky Hybrid LNB in their van, they might well be reluctant to fit a non standard mounting collar / Hybrid LNB during an initial Sky Q installation.

edit: I had not seen that you had a Sky EL028 LNB before I posted this message.

Re: Hybrid Lnb

All I know is my current dish/lnb set up is probably 15 years old! I purchased the el028 lnb knowing sky do not offer these anymore. To be fair the dish will need replacing too in my opinion.
