How do I return my Sky Q Mini Box?
Hi, I'd like to return my recently purchased Sky Q Mini box, but the process to do this is not very clear at all. I have been going round in circles with virtual chat and all the guides.
Can it be done without having to call them?
Thanks in advance, Dan

@Daniel+Howarth You'll need to call Sky 1st before returning the mini box as that won't cancel a multi room sub.

Re: How do I return my Sky Q Mini Box?
Thanks @GD1 , I'm keeping my initial mini box and multi-room sub...I was hoping to run a second mini box but i didnt realised it meant a £100 upgrade to my Sky Q box, to UHD. I think I'll just use my Google Chromecast. I'm going to try the live chat one more time before calling.

Re: How do I return my Sky Q Mini Box?
When you come to sending it off you can use whatever boxes you have or can get as this link will help you to print the return label and return it via Royal Mail:
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/return-tv-broadband
Add a note inside with your account number and a list of equipment you’ve included.
Make sure you get and keep proof of posting when sending this off.

It looks like i have to call Billing and i may have to argue the fact i would like a refund. I'll see how that goes.

Deffinately, as you didn't "purchase" the additional mini box, you paid an admin fee - the boxes are only loaned to you for the duration of the contract.

Re: How do I return my Sky Q Mini Box?
Thats the thing, these are just loaned to you rather than purchased, so that cannot be refunded. But the £50 'set-up'/admin fee could be refunded as i feel it wasnt made very clear that i wouldnt be able to use this box at the same time as the others. And essentially i'm still within a 14 day cooling off period, if such a think exists.

@Daniel+Howarth i'm guessing then that you have the older 1TB non UHD box which only allows the main box and 1 mini box to work at the same time? Not sure who quoted you £100 but normally it's £25 to upgrade from the non UHD 1TB box to a UHD HDR 1TB box the quote they gave you may have been to upgrade to a 2TB UHD HDR box but even then that still seem a bit steep,
although they do Charge £50 to upgrade from a 2 TB UHD non HDR box to a 2TB UHD HDR capable box.
I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer
Sky Q 2 TB (Silver)Box, 2 Mini boxes since June 2016, all connected by wifi
Sky Broadband Hub/SR203, Sky Ultrafast broadband
Ultimate on Demand, Q Experience/UHD, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema

Re: How do I return my Sky Q Mini Box?
Thank you for this info @Laing1 ! I did think it was a bit steep too, especially when its a loan. I'm sure he said it was to upgrade to a standard UHD box. Maybe they'll offer something different when i call.
And yes, its the standard 1TB Q box that i have 😎👍

The UHD/HDR 1TB main Q box available since November 2019 can support two mini boxes in use.
The original, non-UHD 1TB main Q box (from 2016 to November 2019) can only support one.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2
