The solution, for now, is to go to "sources" on your remote and head over to Freeplay, there you can watch ITV X, free of charge.
Freeview Play, presumably. As noted, that will only be found on a relatively limited number of smart television models.

@TimmyBGood Yes apparently all SONY TV's and PS4/5 consols as of yet don't hold any access rights to host ITV X

Yes, a new Apple TV unit would be less but I probably need a nice new Smart TV anyway as my TV is probably past it's best.
New Samsung Smart TV's seem very reasonable now and you get all the apps with them almost making Sky redundant if you aren't big on sport!

Yeah. And even OLEDs can regularly be found for under £1k now.

Hi @4439peterg
If you are referring to getting ITV X via SKY Q I refer you to the post currently marked as Answer to this discussion.
Otherwise if your TV doesn't have & can't get ITV X as an app there are other alternatives such as ROKU sticks, Amaxon Firesticks, Apple TV boxes etc.

As per the long thread, if you have Q then you currently can't. Sometime in 2023 it seems.

For access to the app please see the other replies here
When / if the ITV X app is available on SKY Q you will still not use your SKY account to access it directly - you will need an ITV X account

You need a conventional digital aerial in addition to your Sky aerial. You can then watch on Freeview Play.
