It may be quicker to purchase a new remote from a retailer / larger supermarket.

Meanwhile, if you have an android or Apple device with Sky Go you can possibly set up a virtual remote to control your Sky Q box. See this link which may help

Everyday is a school day, I've never needed or used the Sky Go app on the mobile so didn't know that you could use it as a (very) basic remote for the box. Although unless I've missed something obvious, it's beyond weird that there's no volume control.

For anyone checking out that link, it's a little bit out of date as it claims it's for Apple devices with IOS version of 13 or above only. There is an Android version there (and has been for a long while by the looks).

No there is no volume control on the Virtual remote.

The volume control on the phyiscal remotes just use IR codes that your TV remotes use - there is no volume control  info passed electronic between the SKY box & TV - hence no way for the virtual remote to do this

BTW you are correct that the link is out of date - it was the original announcement when the virtual remote was not available on Andorid and  'the new year' was more than one ! It is now available on both iOS & Android
