Hot Sky Q box
We've just had a replacement Sky Q mini box sent as it was very hot, even on Standby, and now our main Sky Q box is also very hot. It's well ventilated and has always been in the same spot for many years. I turned it off overnight and within 30 minutes of being on this morning it was very hot again. Do we need a new one?

Hi @Elaine50
Boxes will run quite warm in the current ambient hot conditions.
However your easily be able to hold your hand on them.

Re: Hot Sky Q box
As it's a safety concern I've escalated your post to Sky and their Messaging Team should contact you later.
You need to watch out for a post from one of the team inviting you to a private chat and then you should see a blue/red speech bubble at the bottom of your forum page. You’ll have 48 hours to click on it and start the private chat or it will close automatically. If you fail to respond to a chat reply within 48 hours the chat will again close down automatically even if your issue hasn’t been resolved. Replies from Sky aren’t instant so you’ll need to check the chat thread fairly regularly.
This link explains what happens.

Re: Hot Sky Q box
Thank you for your replies. After speaking to Sky via message, we now have an engineer coming to look at the Sky Q box.
