Ive just booked my home move for the start of next month, when I booked i received a message saying my new sky q box will be delivered via courier and I have to swap old for new.
Can someone please calm my nerves and tell me anything delivered would come to my current address and not the new one as I put we aren't moving until 3rd July!

Out of sheer curiosity I called sky, they said its a known fault on the system that it sends a message about delivery of a new sky box, but we keep the existing one and take it with us!

Re: Home move delivery concerns
Why are Sky sending a new Sky Q box out? Is yours faulty?

Is there a satellite dish already installed at your new property?
It sounds like you've booked a box swap rather than a home move. A full home move service from Sky normally entails you taking your existing Q box with you and then an engineer will attend and install the dish and cabling should none be present at your new address.
If your current box is working then there's no need to replace it.
Give Sky a ring to clarify.

Re: Home move delivery concerns
Nope ours was only replaced last Nov due to being faulty, when I booked the move it said they will send another and I have to swap them over and send the old one back with courier.

Re: Home move delivery concerns
I wondered that as it says engineer will be out to fit everything etc but then I got a text saying we will get a new box. My youngest daughter is using angry birds film as a calming method atm so being without is going to be entertaining!

I would call Sky to clarify and emphasise you don't need to replacement box.

Re: Home move delivery concerns
Does sound odd that Sky would send out a replacement Sky Q box if not faulty.
Its normal practice to take that to the new property.
A Sky Q engineer may be needed to check the dish, cable and lnb at the new property. They would also generally arrive with a Sky Q box for an install.
Assume, another scenario, that Sky are not sending out a new broadband router, if you have changed from dsl (copper) to fibre broadband and need to replace an older Sky Q flat type router for a fibre capable router.
Or you have upgraded your package with the move to Max, so getting the Max fibre router as a replacement for a Sky Q router or the black SR203.
Sky Stream with two pucks (Former Sky Q and Sky+ customer), Sky Ultrafast + using Sky SR203 hub. Sky Protect kit tester.
