Hi all I have bought a second hand sky q box just to watch free to air programmes but there's a pin

Hi all,I have bought a second hand sky q box encase I decide to watch free to air TV but there is a pin number,is there any way to knock it off,I have contacted the previous owner and they gave me what they thought was it but it won't work.

What you have there is stolen property. All Sky Q boxes are owned by Sky and loanedto customers.

@AnonymousIf you are still in contact with the previous owner get a refund, if he loaned it from Sky he will be charged a high non return free as well as the box never working for you. The PIN number is associated with the viewing card but Sky will block the box anyway so no PIN number will work.

Why not just connect a standard indoor aerial to your bedroom TV and scan all the Freeview  channels into the TV though your TV settings.

Reception on those can be awful for some locations
