I now have BBC1 South HD on Channel 101 and also on Channel 17. Everytime I want to record a programme on BBC1, it automatically records both channels so I have two recordings of everything! How can I remove Channel 17?Any help appreciated.

hi @Beverley
The first one listed (at 17) is a 'Favourite; - it is not actually a separate channel just a pointer to the actual channel.
If you set recordings on either the main channel (101) or your favourite it will show future recordings against both entries in the TV guide but will actually only record one programme

Re: Have duplicate BBC1 channels on SkyQ
You appear to have also set that channel as a 'favourite' so you need to remove that. See this link.

Re: Have duplicate BBC1 channels on SkyQ
Hi Daniel
Thank you for the quick response. Very strange - I have just been playing around with Favourites. The only way I can stop there being two BBC 1 channels on my TV guide is to remove ALL favourites. As soon as I add 101 as a favourite, it adds another BBC 1! Doesn't add a duplicate with any of the other channels.
But at least I have found out now how to stop the duplicate recordings for the moment. I will just forget about my favourites list!
Thanks for your help
Beverley

Re: Have duplicate BBC1 channels on SkyQ
Hi Nigel
No, I have actually been getting two recordings of every BBC programme. Hopefully, by deleting all my favourites, this will now stop.
Thanks for responding.

hi @Beverley
I really don't think you are getting a duplicate but it may seem that way because when scrolling back through the TV Guide it may seem that way
As I say the favourites are just a pointer to the main channel but really do make life a lot easier by having all your favourites grouped together so you can use the up / down arrows to navigate quickly through them as well as easier to remember the channel numbers assigned and in the case of the 1st nine only a single button press only

That is very stange & I don't really think it is due to the favourite.
Can you double check the recordings themselves (& not just the future entries in the guide) that are duplicated to makes sure that they are both the same region (e.g. BBC 1 sth ) & both HD
What do you see in the Scheduled Section ?
it is vaguely possible that your duplicates are as a result of the regional channels becoming HD a month or so ago

Re: Have duplicate BBC1 channels on SkyQ
I think you're right. It is probably me being dim and doing something stupid. I will investigate further at some point and see if I can work out what happened.
Many thanks for helping 🙂
