Handset not operating the Sky Box

The Handset is not communicating with the sky box, can't open the menu after start up.

 

Iv'e tried the advice on line pressing 1&3 and also 7&9 but although the handset lights up it dosen't operate the Sky Box.

Hi @Crackers3   After holding down 7 & 9 until you see 4 flashes. Are you pointing the remote towards the box (direct line of sight) does it work. Have you power (unplugged) rebooted the box. Leave it off for at least 30 seconds to ensure it is not "frozen".

Hi MQ thanks for your reply.

 

Ive turned of the box and rebooted many times but haven't taken the plug out, so i'll try this now.

The handset started up the programs, but only works the other oprations if I place the handset very close to the box.

Tried new batteries?

Yes, but not sure how good they are so will pick up some new ones.

Thanks, picked up some Duracell batteries and it seemed to do the trick, won't pick those cheapo ones again.
