When I push the Home button nothing happens. I have checked the battery.

May I suggest you try a reset of your remote:
Press & Hold the 7 & 9 until the remote's light (red LED above the SKY logo button) flashes 4 times
Then press 1 & 3 together to go through to re-pair with the box and your TV - make sure it has line of sight of the box as until it is paired it uses Infrared

If that doesn't work, then try a restart your SKY Q box :
Use the remote to place it into standby mode
Then remove the power to it (either switch off at mains or remove the power plug)
Wait at least 30s
Then re-apply the power & wait for it to fully restart - this may take a few minutes.

I phoned Sky Customer Service and the chap talked me through updating my Sky Q software and handheld. Brilliant result.@David2710
