I currently have SkyQ on the main TV and Freesat on the 2nd TV. I am thinking of cacelling my SkyQ subscription and buying a Sky freesat card due to the monthly cost. have a couple of questions before I make a decision. Firstly is it possible to switch from SkyQ to freesat. Also, will I still be able to record, pause, rewind etc. or am I better getting a new freesat recordable box?

hi @AV21
I think the Freesat Card you are referring to is a legacy card used with SKY +/HD boxes & no longer issued
SKY do have an essentials subscription that is SKY Q with just the FTA channels with the ability to record
The latest freesat 4K boxes which can record will work with the wideband LNBs as used by SKY Q - this may be the cheapest option long term

Re: Free sat card
Thanks for the reply. It has been very useful. Can I ask, would I be able to set up the box myself or wold I need a TV engineer to do it.

hi @AV21
You can set up the freesat boxes yourself - although from posts on here it can sometimes need a little bit of a sequence to ensure it works with the wideband LNB - we can point you at discussions detailing this when/if you need this.
