Feature Suggestion: “LiveSync” – Catch Up to Live Coverage Smoothly

Hi everyone,

I’d love to suggest a new feature idea that I think could really enhance the viewing experience—especially for sports fans.

Often, we start watching a live event a few minutes late due to pausing, or simply missing the start. Instead of skipping ahead and potentially missing key moments, what if Sky offered a feature  that would allow viewers to watch at a slightly increased speed (e.g., 105–110%) so they can gradually catch up to the live broadcast. It would preserve the full viewing experience while helping users rejoin the live stream naturally.

This would be particularly useful for:

Live sports events

News broadcasts

Award shows or other real-time programming

Would love to hear what others think—and whether this is something Sky could consider implementing!

Thanks for reading,

Adrian

One distinct issue is that the commentary would sound rather odd...

Audio can be processed to change the tempo and maintain the pitch.  However, I don't think the Q boxes have sufficient processing power for this.  (I doubt there's any hardware assist either)

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
