Ive been having issues for at least two weeks, but only realised it was Sky issuesat the weekend

Your speed you mention above on wifi is fine, for Sky Q as long as it stays fairly consistent at that speed.
Sky do not in any way throttle BT/EE or other UK based ISPs.
Can your try the following.
Power off the main Sky Q box.
Power off your router by removing the plug and leave off power for at least half hour or even one hour if you can.
This will force a change in your WAN ip address and this in the past has woken up any download path glitches you could be experiencing.
Repower your router and once your internet is up and running, start up your Sky Q box.
Wait a good five minutes once the Sky Q box is up, before any download, by keeping it on the menu or watch some TV.
After tha5 five minute wait, try a download and let us know if it helps?

Hi all, me again. I updated the software on my box a couple of weeks ago, and downloads were working beautifully immediately afterwards. Great problem solved right? No. Then I've not downloaded anything since, until I tried one again this evening. Guess what. 1%, stuck, no ability to start watching the film. Absolute gold plated 24 carat weapons grade rubbish. Beyond sick of this hopeless excuse for a service now

Just spent half an hour of my precious free evening time rebooting everything on my network and the Sky Q box. Still no change.
I guess my only option is to enter Dante's seven circles of Sky phone 'support' hell to be talked through everything I've already done 18 times and still not get anywhere.
