Expensive for existing customers
Not happy that sky did nothing to make me stay after 20 years . Poor deals better been a new customer. They don't care and I found customer service rude. The sky bot thing is a waste of time and just tells you to find answer here. They swerve any contact they can. Looking at Virgin or bt any advice .

@Johnnyfay You have a choice, pay what they ask, negotiate a better deal or leave
Sky are under no obligation to provide you with the same deals or discounts as previously held.

Re: Expensive for existing customers
It's only expensive if you continue to pay without negotiating. Do yourvreaserch to see what deals are on work out what you're happy to get rid off call them and negotiate. It's dead easy.

Re: Expensive for existing customers
Hi @Johnnyfay I know it is hard work, but call to cancel (you must be committed). Eventually you will be transferred to the retentions team based in the UK. In my case I told them I would be happy paying the same price I was currently paying. They offered me a special deal paying £27 more. Repeat I would be happy paying what I am currently paying. This went on several times, slowly reducing the price until they offered me the same price! Use the same technique to try and get a new customer price, but Sky are playing hardball these days.
Expand, still need a hand https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-tv

Re: Expensive for existing customers
All changed under Comcast. At last contract renewal 18 months ago i was told "we would never give a better deal for new customers than we would give to an existing customer". Now today i was offered a renewal contract of £126pm for TV & ultrafast fibre, up from £89pm. After a call to the call centre and then speaking to the retention team was offerd £115pm if i dropped UHD and reduced Netflix from premium to standard i.e. no discount all all. 30 years of loyalty well rewarded then! Fibre more than offered by Zzoomm, Swish, Plusnet and others for either better, same or similar speeds. BT offer Fibre 100 with phoneline plus VIP tv package (including Now entertainment, sports & cinema and Boost plus all TNT sports) at £101.50pm after building in initial 3 month discount spread over 24 month contract. NOW then can be used on firestick on other TVs etc. Effectively £13.50pm saving but plus gain TNT sport and multiroom viewing. Unlike it seems Sky I am loyal but they appear to just not want me as a customer any longer.

Re: Expensive for existing customers
Totally agree. same happened to me they said deals for new customers only and you have to leave for 18 mths. so i left only i did tell them dont bother trying to make me stay with a deal, but they did try 1/2 price for 18 mths kept mailing me and ringing after about 2 -3 weeks into my notice, but i left on princable. best thing i have done as plenty of tv content out there. they will offer you a deal if you want one. but now im £94 better off,

Re: Expensive for existing customers
Totally **bleep** off with sky. Old box that will soon not work with BBC HD channels. Thought I would go to the Stream system + Broadband and Netflix. Netflix and Broadband I have elsewhere. Waste of time call centres, one left me on hold for 16 mins and I ended up hanging up. Stupid BOT as well. Ended up being told better deal for new customers even though I'm supposed to be a VIP 20+ years.
Ended up cancelling my service with them. No deal given at last stage, dont care, good riddence. Plenty more competition out there

Re: Expensive for existing customers
Anyway, i thought it was becoming illegal to offer new customers better deals than existing/loyal ones.
Loyalalty = certainly not rewarded at SKY

The deals you're seeing are no doubt for new customers. You probably benefited from a similar deal 20+ years ago. Comcast seem to want to attract new customers whilst sometimes losing current ones. If you're moving elsewhere, when that discounted deal ends you'll probably find yourself in the same boat and after 18 months Sky will class you as a new customer if you want to return.
