I have to switch from SkyQ to Sky Stream . I am unable to do this on line . The robot keeps telling me I have the best deal . I have to switch as my landlord is taking down the dish

Re: Existing customer Switching From Sky Q to Sky Stream Online

My sky Q contract expired recently & my out of contract bill jumped by around £26 in month 1 and a further £25 in month 2. Insane! I spoke with various different departments, who were at times less than helpful and quite honestly, lied about my contract detail on more than one occasion - giving different end dates, failing to tell me they'd added extras to my package without warning etc. Anyway, it simply became unaffordable, but having grown up in a Sky household and having switched from BT previously, I decided to move to Sky Stream. Marginally cheaper, but wow....I am still sitting frustrated 2 weeks on at how different it is to use. If you're like me and enjoy the flexibility of recording and skipping ads, without having to use ITVX and other apps to watch something, perhaps think twice! It is painfully backwards to use, maybe less so if it's all you've known! 😂

Re: Existing customer Switching From Sky Q to Sky Stream Online

Hi Chris not sure if you got this all sorted. But I got skystream with netflix & basic sky TV for £18 a month on 31 day rolling contract!(£15 for 24 monnth contract) I already have broadband with Three mobile (5G) which only cost me £18 a month. So for all my TV needs, my broadband and my mobile, I am £60 a month. This is as of June 2025 nb you cant record on skystream, i did prefer sky q, but like you, it just became too expensive for me to justify.

Hi there, how did you end up resolving this. I'll shortly be in the same boat as I've just sold my house and will be moving into a rental for a while. Many thanks, JT

Re: Existing customer Switching From Sky Q to Sky Stream Online

I phoned sky and spoke to various people including someone from the values team who were not really helpful

my broadband and sky contracts are up at the end of the month so thought I would move to sky stream to take advantage of the excellent offers but turned out would not be available to me as an existing customer Tried to explain that my contract ends but that didn't matter I could move over but it was more or less the same as my current sky Q

A friend told me that if I cancel my broadband and tv I could then join sky stream as a new customer, would lose my diamond status, but not sure how that would work.

Has anyone had any experience of trying to switch and how best to do it to minimise costs

@McLeanN

You wouldn't be classed as a new customer until you've been away from Sky for at least 18 months.
