Ethernet Cable to Sky Q

I will be running my Q box with an ehternet cable from the router. I have two mini boxes as weel, but can only get an ethernet cable from the router to one not the other.

Will this work? So one will be on Wifi the other hard wired from the router?

Thanks

hi @Crammy

This can work but it depends on the wifi signal to the mini that is not connected via ethernet.

Note : If your ISP is not SKY or you have one of the leter SKY Max routers then the mini does not use your home wifi but a wifi generated by the SKY Main box

Re: Ethernet Cable to Sky Q

The mini box in question is running fine on my current BT wifi at the moment, so I guess it should be ok.

When I hard wire the main Q box and the mini box, what do I need to turn off?

hi @Crammy

Nothing - if you disable the wifi you will stop the other mini working as I mentoned it doesn;t use your BT wifi but a wifi generated by the main box - you might get away switching off wifi on the hardwired mini but not if that is working as a booster to the other mini
