If there is a great distance between the mini box that says out of range and the main box, you may need a booster that boosts the signal to that specific area which is mostly referred to as the dead zone. In some cases, if you need a booster you may be required to have the boost subscription added to your Broadband package. Some pros of having it are that you get free-of-charge engineer visits during the weekends and your line is tested every day. Another thing, depending on your VIP status you may be entitled to Sky's new offer which is 6 months free of boost. The normal price of the Boost is 6 pounds

No the box is right under the tv and it's been working fine for the 6 months I've had it

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreEDIT just seen your last post, something may have changed that affects the link, new phone, new WiFi device in fact almost anything.
It depends on who supplies your broadband as Sky and 3rd party suppliers connect differently.
If Sky it will be using your home WiFi to link boxes and it is worth contacting Sky as they seem to have a whole home guarantee so could provide boosters to increase the range of your WiFi.
BUT
If your broadband is not Sky then:
It connects differently the main box uses your home WiFi to connect to your hub/router BUT the boxes link using their own mesh on 5Ghz Ch36 nothing to do with your home WiFi.
Sky may be able to provide a Q booster (not exactly the same thing as a WiFi booster) or you could use something like apowerline adapters with one connected by Ethernet to your main box and one connected by Ethernet to the non working box.
