Hi. Engineers came to install Sky yesterday but Open Reach couldn't install the router, something about not finding the line? I'm now waiting for an update as to when it will be rectified and installed. I'm due to have my Virgin media disconnected on 30/08 and if I extend it (if I in fact can) I'm going to be double billed as paying for both. Anyone know if Sky deal with these things quickly as I couldn't get an answer from the call centre? I can't be without WiFi as nothing will work!!

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIf there's an issue with a 'line' (e.g. no spare or needing to install one from scratch) then the delay may be weeks.
If Internet access is a must then personally I would not cancel a line until the other is installed and working. (Yes, there's a small overlap in payments)
I would get back onto VM asap to see what they can do.
You'll be entitled to credit for the delay in installing the OpenReach line to offset the cost.

Thanks. I'm glad I did an overlap in the first place, so hopefully I can extend it. I've had Sky before and was an 8 year customer, so I'm sure they'll figure it out but doubt there will any sense of urgency on their part. I'll have to keep chasing. It's skenthingnthey can complete from outside apparently so fingers crossed!
