Downloads failing

For months, my Sky box will not download programmes and films. Occasionally, it seems to work if I turn the box off at the wall but then the problem comes back almost instantly. I've done everything to try to get it to work including updating the software 4 times and it still persists. Can you please help me? Thanks, Tara
